4 Month Dr. visit....a bit late

Sassy is 27.5 inches long and 17.7 lbs. 99+% and 96+% respectively. She is a strong girl and is doing what she's supposed to. She will most likely need a larger carseat before most babies her age....as soon as 6 months. She got 2 shots and cute pink Snoopy band-aids! A small fever later she's doing great grabbing at things and drooling/chewing on her hands. Such a happy gurl!!!!

Yeah, Yeah....it's not about the kid

Being back at work for the past few weeks my daycare person thought I could use some fast recipes. This is one that she gave me that was very good....and fast, and easy.
No Name Soup (literally she had no name for it)
1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
add (in same large pot beef cooked in)
1 can drained green beans
1 can drained whole kernel corn
1 can drained pinto beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can ranch beans (brand name is Ranch)
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 packet taco seasoning
1 packet Ranch dressing mix
1-2 cans beer

Stir and let simmer for awhile. That's it.....so good..

I went to a few neighbor's houses....took some pictures with another little chili pepper, went to see my daycare lady Miss Lisa and then came home and crashed. More pictures to be added to flickr tomorrow when I have more space made available.

First off, all of you everywhere go over and vote on Sassy's Halloween poll. We are not going to be a ladybug this year....we would like to go another route. Pictures from our trip will be posted soon, we are working with car, house, and daycare issues this week. It helps that she's been sleeping 9 hours a night!

Yes sassy, we are tentatively scheduling a trip around Nebraska next week. If you live in the Valentine area Sassy will be there Thursday, Sutherland Friday am at the post office and in Kearney that afternoon. Does she do autographs?....no, but feel free to find a grandparent and try to pry her out of their arms (good luck) to give her some loves.

Shots, Shots, and Naps

Sassy spent her 2 month mark getting 5 shots in her thighs covered by 5 bright pink band aids..and followed it up by a long afternoon nap. She is now 24 inches, 11.4 lbs, and her head was 39.5 cm. She's doing great! ...and no more shots until November!

Sassy's first trip to Zoo!

I have to admit that she slept through most of it, but she went. We went to the aquarium, monkeys, bears, lion, tigers, and butterflies. The last stop sassy got out of her stroller and was amongst the pretty butterflies! She also got a squeeky lion bib from Cheryl....soo cute. Thank you for taking us today Cheryl.

Happy Two Months.......

Mommy had to go buy me 2 pant outfits as the weather is getting colder and I have no warmer clothes and warm peejamas. Happy pictures of me this morning!

Happy Husker Day!

Mommy got me a bow...a big bow to go with my husker onesie. I also am quite content as I slept 8 hours last night....nice!

Emma has been chillin in her own crib the past few nights and I'm happy to say that last night was a 10/10:30-5 am kind of night!!! We will probably be watching Hurricane Ike unfold and thanking Grampa Griffiths that we live in NEBRASKA!!

Day care......I think if I looked it up the definition would be a high priced place you don't want to take your child to. It would have a footnote, if you want a day care you must reserve a spot the moment you conceive the child because if not your screwed!

I played for over 30 minutes in my gym...after taking a nap in my CRIB!!!!!! I got tuckered out and as seen here mommy took a picture of me.

After all of the hulabaloo of this weekend and mommy getting hit by a car (again) yesterday we have decided to take the rest of the week off. Not from here....but from errands/fun shopping/visiting/etc.

I'm going to see my grampa's and grama's. My baptism is this weekend. I will have fun with my aunts and uncle. See my excitement!!

Terms of Endearment.....the movie

As I was playing "operation" (the game of which by the way was far more useful in terms of learning a skill than many college classes) on Emma's nose trying to remove the obstructions....and I thought of the movie Terms of Endearment. I haven't seen it in ages; oddly I have a thing for 2 Shirley MacLaine movies...anywho, during the previously mentioned operation I thought of her practically crawling in the crib with her baby daughter "Emma" (oddly enough) to check on her. I backed away from the baby....I will not be "that" mom.

Iz resting today....I gotz boogies taken out of my nose early this morming and about noon. Not so pretty.

Oh Hai!

I wave to all my blog looky-looers today. Have a good weekend!

Contrary to popular belief.....not my bad.

Yes, if you live or have lived in the state of Nebraska you know full well that Husker games are considered a religion to thousands. The stadium is their alter, the recliners at home and bleachers are the pews in which the people watch and pray from. One can hear the hymns echo from the tunnel signaling to the parishioners that "church" is about to start, and if you listen closely there are probably even a few "Hail Mary's" and "Our Fathers" coming from the masses.
As for me I don't attend this "church" so I was not aware of the schedule of events.
I have found out that our little Emma is to be baptized at the same time that the fall Husker season is to begin...almost down to the minute. Shame on me, or shamey as Grandpa Lee would say.
To my little Emma(sassy).....they'll get over it!

Sassy goes to school...

...but was suspended for showing her midriff.

Emma went to school with mommy and met mommy's co-workers. She was very good.

After working Emma needed a nap.

Baby well-visit

Good stats today, she is 21 3/4 inches, 7 lbs 6 oz.(that would be a almost 1lb. gain in the past week), and her head grew an inch! According to the charts she's tall and skinny.....good for her. She's eating like she's supposed to and has only minor birthmarks that will go away (you wouldn't even know they were there). We went to the store and got a starbucks and came home to wake Uncle Jake up!

Nursury Pictures

A few pictures promised yesterday.

We have a one week old photo, a glo-worm photo, and a bath photo.

One week old today!

Yesterday was the last day for the bili-blanket. Her number went from 18.5 on Tuesday to 11.3 on Thursday thank goodness! We all celebrated by giving her a bath...pictures yet to come. She liked it when her daddy poured the warm water all over her body...she would calm immediately. She calmed so much that she had a oopsie on the way out of the tub. She then got cleaned up and swaddled for bed time. She lost her stump from the umbilical cord on Thursday. Her glider arrived yesterday and her room is complete, also will attach pictures when I get them off of the camera.

Going home outfit

This is Emma's going home ensemble from Sunday. Right now she is a "glo-worm" as daddy calls her as she is in a bili-blanket(fiber optic) for her "cheeto-ness". She is handling it quite well. A nurse is coming to the house today to poke her to see if her levels have gone down.
