Baby well-visit

Good stats today, she is 21 3/4 inches, 7 lbs 6 oz.(that would be a almost 1lb. gain in the past week), and her head grew an inch! According to the charts she's tall and skinny.....good for her. She's eating like she's supposed to and has only minor birthmarks that will go away (you wouldn't even know they were there). We went to the store and got a starbucks and came home to wake Uncle Jake up!

One week old today!

Yesterday was the last day for the bili-blanket. Her number went from 18.5 on Tuesday to 11.3 on Thursday thank goodness! We all celebrated by giving her a bath...pictures yet to come. She liked it when her daddy poured the warm water all over her body...she would calm immediately. She calmed so much that she had a oopsie on the way out of the tub. She then got cleaned up and swaddled for bed time. She lost her stump from the umbilical cord on Thursday. Her glider arrived yesterday and her room is complete, also will attach pictures when I get them off of the camera.

Going home outfit

This is Emma's going home ensemble from Sunday. Right now she is a "glo-worm" as daddy calls her as she is in a bili-blanket(fiber optic) for her "cheeto-ness". She is handling it quite well. A nurse is coming to the house today to poke her to see if her levels have gone down.

Tomorrow it is!

Well, it seems that she will be liking to stay put until tomorrow now...when they "persuade" her out just a bit. I have had contractions today, but nothing that would constitute a trip to the hospital. We are expecting a storm to come through this evening, hopefully I will still get some sleep. Dad got her shelves hung, picked up her room, fed me, did dishes, and picked up the house a bit and my car.
We will be at the hospital at 9 to get it all started. If you don't hear from me tomorrow have a good weekend!

Not Yet...

She's not here....yet. Still at home. Dad is making me some eggs and I'm having some fruit, with a side of owies.
Have a good Thursday!

Update from yesterday's dr. appt

Well I went in yesterday and gave them my bucket o pee and got my blood drawn. Whilst I was there the dr came in for visit and discussed my options. She thought that the urine would come back quite high and wanted to prep me for several options. Option one was if it was low then another few days at home. If it was in the middle then induced last night. Lastly, if it was high then C-section last night. Results were upper-middlin. So she also did a internal yesterday...geesh, I just had one on Monday! I was nothing on Monday an yesterday I was about 2 cm and 50%. She was surprised and happy, induction/breaking water would go much easier!
She called a few times and she had talked to some high risk drs. and they asked if I could go until Friday or Saturday which will make me about 38 weeks. She said sure my BP has been fairly decent on bed rest. She believed that i may go sooner with the dilation and effacing that happened. I'm having a few owies and other than that I'm just chillin until I can't handle the owies or my water breaks.....if it stays then Friday at 9am we are heading in for them to break it for me.

Doctor Appt. and some pictures

Today was my 37 week appt. My blood pressure was good (for me), but alas they found some protein in my urine so I'm doing my 3rd 24 hour urine test followed by a blood tomorrow at high noon. They did a quick ultrasound to check the fluid around sassy and it showed to be very normal and her heart rate was good....so now we wait for the urine results tomorrow afternoon?
Here are some pictures for you.. one of me in my geek incubator shirt and one of a lovely quilt that my great aunt Nancy made for sassy.

End of 3rd Week on Bed Rest

So my dr. appt is in a few hours....I have been taking my blood pressure about 4 times a day. It's looking good from what I can see, but we shall see what the dr. says.
Ben got back later last night from the golf tournament with.......FOOD from Mom Larson. Thank goodness, and thank you for the food!!! I don't know what I was happier to see the food or Ben :)
I will be updating later this afternoon after the dr. appt. I will also be attaching some pictures.
Have a good day!

Also, hi to all the people in Valentine whom have bookmarked this page ;)

Yay!

I have eaten well (and with low salt), kept my blood pressure down....and the house is clean!!!!!!! Mom came and did numerous loads of laundry, dishes, vacuumed and made smothered burritos, steak fingers, mashed potatoes, chicken noodles, peach pie, rice krispy treats, and chicken salad with croissants for when she's gone. Delish!!!! She also went and picked up my diaper bag that I "shopped" for online and went to the grocery store multiple times. What will I do now? Also, she used the ped egg on my feets. May I say that for it being a "buy on TV" item it is freakin awesome!!!!!! My feets are smooth and soft and it didn't hurt a bit. I highly recommend getting one of these!
I did learn today that my blood pressure goes up when I know I'm getting a blood draw and when I'm going to get some pie!!! I can get it back down in 5 minutes now :) at least for the pie.

Yessss............

I begrudgingly attended my doctors appointment today. If you have been reading you know why. Dr. S was back from 2 weeks being gone. I had brought my notes on my blood pressures at home. Since all lab work has been perfect and my BP is normal at home on left side I get to keep sassy!! My next appointment isn't until Monday! Not only that but if my BP stays the same then I will get to keep sassy until 1) I go into labor or 2) until my numbers change.
Mom is coming tomorrow.....laundry and dishes and cooking....which is good because I need some clean drawers! This will also give Ben a break and someone to keep me company during the day! Yay!

Still at home...

I did call the doctor's office today. The nurse I spoke to asked how long ago I had the baby. ?What? I tell her no, I was sent to the hospital for observation...perhaps she was told otherwise. I go in tomorrow at 1:40 to be told my blood pressure is too high. Whoohoo...I'm taking in my sheet with my own recorded numbers. We'll see what happens. I'm hoping they let me go to at least 37 weeks so that sassy can be full term. Today in the mail sassy got a lovely baby gift my great aunt Nancy made a adorable quilt! If I can get to the camera tonight I'll post pictures!

Home...

They did not wait for the results of all of the lab work...they(nurses) thought it was a bit ridiculous that I was still there. My blood pressure remained normal and I'm going to continue to take it at home every few hours (this am it was 134/77) just to show them when I go back into the drs. office this week. All of the monitoring of sassy showed that she was fine.....she did like to kick the monitor though :)
It was nice to have my dad stay with me all day at the hospital yesterday. Ben could go to his golf outing and get stuff done at home. Dad left this am, but went to HyVee this am and got me lots of fruits for this week(if it lasts that long) I LOVE my fruit. One of the ladies that works there even asked about me......sad indeed :P
Today I thought I would lay on my left side in bed.....then maybe, just maybe switch to the right for awhile, then back to the left again.
Enjoy your day!

"Happy" Fourth of July

......as I write to you from my hospital room. I have been put on observation for however long they decide. They thought that my blood pressure was creeping up yesterday and that it worried them so now they check it every 4 hours (it was every 30 minutes) and they should be here to draw more blood in the next hour or so. My blood pressure is now within normal limits, perhaps one should not make me aware of a surprise blood draw and then follow it up with blood pressure findings, duh.
So here I sit. Jake came to see me yesterday and helped us out to take Charles to the vet. The vet made a crack about him not being without groceries.....ha, so funny, not. Other than trying to escape Jake's attempt to get him in the carrier all went as planned.
We were also supposed to meet the pediatrician yesterday, but that was canceled as I was busy being committed.
Please watch some fireworks for me today as the doctor will most likely not let me out of bed to see the big show this evening.

P.S. Hospital food not so bad......

Quick update on Storm damage...

The insurance adjuster stopped by yesterday. He measured and climbed, etc. and stated that we would need:
a new roof
new air conditioner
new fence (the sides that are gone)
2 new downspouts
painting on west and south side
deck sanded/stained

I'll update blog later today with doctor's visit if it's important.

I gots some good blood...and some good food.

The doctors office called today...bout gave me a heart attack. They said they would call if blood work wasn't good. Well this one wasn't in on the conversation so she called to say my blood work was outstanding. Yay! She also said I could have a few more minutes up and around (15 minutes every couple of hours). My brother came today and brought me lunch from one of my top lunch choice places and did dishes/shopping/played Scrabble with me and we watched a movie. Now he's cooking one of my top dinners! My mouth is salivating now. It was nice to have someone to pass the time with. He's going to do a few more things around the house and then he's gone in the am.
I get to pee in a bottle tomorrow and then the doctors appt. is Thursday. I also have a appt. with a pediatrician for sassy....not much else for now.
